We will be discussing the events planned for the year, as well as code of conduct and expectations of the juniors. Parents are welcome to attend, and we will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Date: May 20th - Junior Night Game: Count Your Putts

  • The player with the least number of putts wins. Putts are only counted when you are on the green. Please mark your putts on the scorecard provided.
  • Play from the 150-yard Marker on every hole expect par 3s, play from white tees on par 3s and please return your scorecard to the Pro Shop upon completion of your round.
 

Date: May 27th - Junior Game: Poker Hand

  • Players will play Stoke Play. After the Round, 5 random holes will be selected for all players, your score on those 5 holes will determine your poker hand.
  • Number of stokes on that hole will equal a playing card, 1= A, 2=K, 3=Q, 4=J, 5=10, 6=9, 7=8, 8=7. Maximum score on a hole is double par.
  • Mark gross score on the score card provided and the playing card associated to that score.
 

Date: June 17th - Junior Night Game:  Putts

  • There are 3 points allowed for every hole (thus 27)
    • ​1 point is given for your drive if you land on the fairway or hit a green on a par 3​
    • 1 point is received if you avoid all hazards (bunkers, water, OB, forests)
    • 1 point is received if you can 2 putt or less
  • Please mark your points on the scorecard provided. Player with the most points win.
  • Play from the White tees and please return your scorecard to the Pro Shop upon completion of your round.
 

Date: June 24 – Junior Game: 27

  • Players wull play stoke play. Your total gross + yout yoyal putts will be used for scoring
  • Please mark your gross score and putts on the scorecard provided.  The Pro Shop will calculate the scores at the end of the round.
 

Date: July 1st – Junior Game: Tombstone

  • Each Player will receive a flag that represents a “Tombstone”
  • Each Player will “Die” once their total number of strokes reaches the course par
  • Each Player will place their “Tombstone” at the point on the course where they “Died’
  • The Player who dies at the furthest point is the winner.
 

Date: July 8th – Junior Game: Stats Game

  • Points are given to players for certain positive stats
  • 1 Point for Fairway in regulation (hit the fairway on first drive), 1 Point for Green in Regulation (Hit Green on 1st shot on par 3 or 2nd shot on par 4 or 3rd shot on par 5), 1 point for and up and down (1 chip and 1 putt), 1 point for sand Save (make par from any point in the bunker), 1 point for 2 putts or less
  • The Player with the Highest number of points is the Winner
 

Date: July 15th – Junior Game: Playing Lesson/ Play with the Pro

  • 2022’s Junior League Players Championship
  • Players will play from their designated operation 36 tee markers
  • Players Must play all shots until the ball is holed out. Maximum score on a hole is double par.
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers
  • Any ties for first place after 9 holes will be settled by a putt off
 

Date: July 22nd  - Junior Game:  TROUBLE

  • Score 1 point each time you are in the rough. Player with the fewest points wins.
  • Please mark your points on the scorecard provided. Play from the operation 36 Tee-Marker on every hole, please return your scorecard to the Pro Shop upon completion of your round.
 

Date: July 29th – Junior Game: Bingo Bango Bongo

  • The format of play will be Play your own ball.

  • In Bingo, Bango, Bongo, three types of achievements are rewarded with a point. The first player in a group to get their ball on the green gets a point (bingo). The player in the group whose ball is closest to the pin once all balls are on the green gets a point (bango). And the player in the group who is first to hole out gets a point (bongo)

  • Please mark points on the scorecard

·When playing, whoever is the farthest away must hit and/or putt first to make it fair for the “Bingo and Bongo” point. After the bongo point has been awarded, continue to use continuous putting to help with the pace of place. Please be aware of your groups pace and ensure you are keeping up to the group ahead of you.

 

Date: August 5th – Junior Game: Rough Day

  • Points are awarded to any player that gets in trouble. The winner is the player who has collected the fewest number of points at the end of 9 holes
POINT ALLOCATION
Water Ball  =1 point
Over/Through a Fence   =1 point
In a Bunker  =1 point
Failing to get out of a Bunker  =2 points (for each stroke that fails you)
One Bunker to another  =3 points
3 Putt   =3 points
4 Putt   =4 points
  • BONUS: Get a Par (or better) on a hole and ERASE the trouble points that you collected on that hole!

 

Date: August 12th - Presidents Cup

  • Team Canada vs. Team World
  • Cumulative point totals from attendance in Highlands events during the year determines the individuals who participate
  • Each Jr will have the opportunity to play with a Golf Professional and have the chance to hoist the coveted Presidents Cup.
  • Dinner will be provided in the Clubhouse following the round

❑ Teams are comprised of Highlands Golf Professionals/staff and 4 Highlands Juniors per team
❑ Each participant will have the opportunity to play with a Golf Professional/staff, and have the chance to hoist the coveted Presidents Trophy
❑ Dinner will be provided in the Clubhouse following the round
