The atmosphere at The Highlands clubhouse is genuine, welcoming and open to both members and non-members. We’ll find just about any excuse to throw a party and have a good time. The perfect scenic backdrop for any special event and an idyllic setting to enjoy frosty post-round pints, no matter the occasion, the clubhouse is the best place to meet old friends and make new ones. 

Junior Meeting

Tuesday, May 16th

We will be discussing the events planned for the year, as well as expectations of the juniors and us, your Junior Coordinators. Parents are welcome to attend, and we will be available to answer any questions you may have. Juniors attending the meeting will receive 10 participation points towards the Presidents Cup. Refreshments will be provided.

Junior Interclub

Interclub qualifying will take place on Sunday, May7th, 2017. The top 3 GROSS scores will qualify for our Junior Interclub team in addition to the first and second place finishers at last year’s Club Championship; next 3 finishers will be considered alternates. Our team will compete against the other private clubs in the city in a match play event. Team shirts will be provided.

Junior Opening

Sunday, May 21st, 2017

The format for this event will be a Texas Scramble. All 4 players will tee off. The best shot will be selected and then all 4 players hit again. This continues until the ball is holed. Prizes and dinner will be included. This will be a great chance to begin meeting other junior members in a fun and relaxed format. You will receive 10 points for participating.

Junior League

Different formats each week, with handicaps being used
Competitive and non-competitive divisions
Involvement from a PGA of Canada Professional each week
Prizes awarded after each round
10 points for participating each week towards the Presidents Cup
Cost -  free for members, $20/guest (includes green fees, food and prizes)

Pee Wee Nights

These are an excellent opportunity for younger kids (accompanied by a parent/guardian) to play a shortened course and experience the game of golf with a strong emphasis on fun. These nights are free and are open to both members and non-members. June 3rd, July 8th, and August 19th  

Junior Beat the Pro

 
  • Saturday, June 17h
  • Open to all junior members
  • Each junior will be responsible for picking a PGA Professional playing in the PGA Tour event that week. Your pick must be given to the Pro Shop by Friday evening.
  • Your own gross and net scores will be combined with your chosen Professional’s score for that day. Prizes will be given out based on the lowest combined scores.
  • Dinner and Prizes to follow the round.
  • 10 points awarded for participating towards the Presidents Cup.

Junior and Pee Wee Club Championship

-Open to boys and girls (separate divisions), with flights determined by handicap (Junior Club Championship) and age (PEE-WEE Club Championship)
-Gross and net prizes in each flight
-Dinner and awards ceremony to follow final round
-Top 2 boys gross scores will receive exemptions for the 2017 Junior Interclub Team
-10 points for participating towards the Presidents Cup, as well as bonus points for those volunteering for day 3 (Sunday).
-Friday and Saturday, July 28th and 29th   

Junior Presidents Cup

Team Canada vs. Team World
-Cumulative point totals from attendance in Highlands events during the year determines the individuals who participate
-Teams are comprised of Highlands Golf Professionals and Highlands Juniors
-Each participant will have the opportunity to play with a Golf Professional, receive a complimentary steak dinner after the round and have the chance to hoist the coveted Presidents trophy.
